Grid connect, stand-alone or roof-mounted
Grid connected turbines provide the opportunity to sell surplus electricity to the National Grid, and the Feed in Tariffs introduced in April 2010 make this a beneficial position for anyone owning a 50kW or smaller wind turbine. The majority of wind turbines are grid connected and we will provide you with all the information needed by the grid supplier when you wish to connect your wind turbine to the national grid.
It is not always possible to grid connect however and ‘stand alone’ wind turbines are ideally suited for remote locations where electricity is required but connection to the National Grid is impractical. Stand-alone turbines feed batteries rather than the national grid: the batteries then generate the electricity. We have a number of turbines which can be stand-alone and are suitable for small rural farms, boats, livestock barns/stables etc..
