PPA
One step in the process of buying a turbine is the need to set up a means to sell the surplus electricity generated. This is achieved through creating a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with one of a number of electricity companies who specialise in buying wind power. This is the source of your income from the turbine.
A Power Purchase Agreement is a contract between you, the person who generates electricity for the purpose of sale and the company you chose. It will set the start and end date of the contract and agree a rate for the sale of the electricity. All electricity exported will be metered to provide both you and the buyer with accurate information about the amount of electricity generated and bought.
